EDIT: The two Tayto squishies I ordered a while back are growing mold. What I thought was just one random green dot when I first got them has turned bigger and into many many green dots. I sent Smoko a message with pictures and the response I got was that the production team inspected the images and it's just "residual ink." Um, what? Residual ink isn't growing into more and more spots all over. Ink doesn't grow. I showed my boyfriend and he freaked out and immediately threw them away. And he was playing with them when I first got them so it's not just me noticing the huge change. It's green and growing and so obviously mold. And they've been in our room and everywhere else. I'm very upset. It's a health hazard and all I got was denial and crap about "residual ink." I wish I didn't love Tayto so much, I don't want to support this company anymore. 😞
EDIT 2: Now on top of denial, they are saying I can't receive a replacement because it has been too long. Well of course it would have to be a while before the mold spread all over them and I knew what it was! Obviously I would have reached out sooner instead of having a growing health hazard on my dresser! I've spent over hundreds of dollars on this company and I'm beyond disappointed and disgusted this is the level of concern they show this kind of hazard. And of course I tried to post a review on the website, but it will never show up because it's not a good one. Ugh. I think I'm done.
Old review:
I love this site because the items are so cute. And the customer service used to be helpful. But now I feel that the quality of their products are decreasing. I've ordered three Tayto mochi plushes and the first two I ordered around 2020 were great. The second one was different than the first one, as a different stuffing was used and it wasn't as fat, but it was okay still. But the third one I ordered more recently... The material feels kind of gross and there are weirdnesses in the appearance. And it is definitely not as fluffy. It is nothing like the other two. Then I ordered the boba tea mochi plush and that was much smaller than expected and completely flat. I messaged them about it and they said it needed a week to fluff up since they vacuum seal all the plushes when they send them now. Of course, there is pretty much no stuffing inside so that never happened. Messaged again and have yet to receive a response besides one asking for pictures, which I already provided the first time. $40 for a tiny flat nothing. I've also received broken lamps and ones with scratches all across the face. They did eventually replace those so that's fine, but my point is I'm having more and more problems with their products and their customer service is getting less responsive. And I'm afraid to order anymore mochi plushes because the quality has gone down so badly. Oh, and the worst part, they will not allow you to post any negative reviews on their website. I noticed this after I tried to post a negative review about my boba plush. I tried twice on different days and it was never posted. Did not have that problem with positive reviews. That really destroyed the faith I had in this website because now I know I will never truly know if a product is good or not before I order it. Which explains the dumpling sleeping mask I bought. It was so tiny I can't wear it and I have a smaller head. I wondered why there were no reviews on it saying so and now I know why; no negative ones are allowed. Was once a happy customer, but now very disappointed. Especially since Tayto potato is my favorite ever and I really don't want to stop ordering from the site. But I'm not sure I should keep risking it on these expensive items when I'm not going to receive help if they're no good.
